Pipa, Natal and the Rio Grande do Norte
Natal, the capital of the Rio Grande do Norte State, is the American continent closest land to Africa. It was founded on the day of Christmas (“Natal” in Portuguese). The city main attractions are the Reis Magos Fort and the Dunas Park. Natal is also the perfect starting point for buggy expeditions to Fortaleza, crossing the villages of São Miguel do Gostoso (a kitesurf paradise), Galinhos, and Canoa Quebrada. It is also possible to go South and visit Pipa and Baía Formosa. If we were to advice one 100% seaside destination, it would probably be Praia da Pipa. This small village situated at a few kilometers from Natal and Tibau do Sul, offers heavenly beaches and quality hotels. Praia da Pipa never lost its particular charm even after becoming so popular.
