Day 1: Salvador - Palmeiras
Early in the morning, your English speaking guide will come to pick you up at the hotel to take you to Salvador bus station. The bus leaves Salvador at 7h00, stops at 11h00 for lunch, and arrives at 14h30.
n.b. 7 hours and 30 minutes’ drive.
Your driver will pick you up at the bus station and drive you to the Capão Valley (20 km), starting point of the treks in the Chapada Diamantina National Park.
Arrival at your hotel Pousada Tatu Feliz and meeting with your guide at 18h00.
You will have the rest of the day to discover the small village of Palmeiras.

Day 2: Palmeiras - Capão (Caete Açu)
You driver will pick you up at 7h30 to drive you to Bomba village, where you will start your trek, following a trail towards the Pati Valley.
You will walk through the Vieira highlands crossed by many rivers. This region used to be exploited by gold diggers and livestock farmers.
You will make a stop for lunch and take a swim in the Cachoeira dos Cristais waterfall if you wish.
Then you will follow mule trails and enjoy an unobstructed view over the Pati uplands, one of the most isolated zones of the park, while walking through the endemic rupestrian vegetation, carnivorous plants, high-altitude orchids and everlasting flowers.
You will share a room in a local's house with no electricity and have dinner (made with local products) with your hosts.

Day 3: Capão (Caete Açu) - Vale do Pati
After a regional breakfast, you will cross a dense forest composed by jacarandas and ipês, common trees of the Atlantic Forest.
At the end of the trail is a beautiful waterfall. Bromelias are clinging to centenary trees, as in an Amazonian scenario.
You will then go down the valley, towards the former Pati city hall, near the river.
You will sit for a nice picnic on the river shore.
In the evening, the last sunrays enlighten the foothills of Morro do Castelo.
You will have dinner and spend the night at a local’s house in this tiny village lost in the middle of the Park.

Day 4: Vale do Pati - Lençóis
You will wake up early and start the day by walking around Morro do Castelo, the quartz fortress overlooking the valley.
The trail penetrates the humid forest, where you will hear the piercing sounds of the araponga, the white bird which seems to be following you along the way. You will also probably see ruby-throated hummingbirds, tree ferns and palm trees.
The Calixto waterfall pours in a beautiful natural pool. You will have the opportunity to swim and relax in this amazing scenario.
You will then reach the highlands from which you will see all the mountain ranges. You will walk through wide open spaces during a few hours to the Capão Valley. Private transfer from Capão to Lençóis.

Day 5: Lençóis - Salvador
Departure from the hotel in the afternoon and transfer to Salvador bus station.

Your guide will come to pick you up at the bus station and drive you to the hotel.
