Delta of Parnaíba, Barra Grande and Sete Cidades Park
The Delta of Parnaíba is composed of islands, mangroves and dunes over 2700 square kilometers. In the Delta, it is possible to stay in Parnaíba, on the main island of Canárias or, for the lucky ones, on the private island of Poldros. You will explore the Delta on a small boat over the Delta waters and observe monkeys, caimans, iguanas, and the famous scarlet ibis, that just before sun-set gather on a Delta island, giving travelers a fascinating show. In the inland region, the Sete Cidades Park is well-known for its surprising and funny-shaped rock formations. As for the coastal part, the Piauí state is also famous for its kitesurfing spot: Barra Grande.
